What Type Of Lawyer Should I Look Into For A Sexual Harassment Problem?

This happened for a period of 5 months. Do I still have a chance to do something about this. How can I go about affording a lawyer if that was the only job I had and right now I am struggling for money, since I rejected every sexual offer I was cut back from 40 hours a week to zero hours. Does anyone know how I should start the process. I am sick of feeling sick over what I had to go thru just so I could keep my job to provide for my two daughters.

    2. Try contacting the Bar Association in your county. Maybe someone will take your case for free, or give you a free initial consultation.
    If you haven’t already, I urge you to keep detailed notes of what occurred, the time, place and circumstances and any witnesses. I would guess that a he/said she/said case with no witnesses would be near impossible to prove in court – but I’m not an attorney.
    Many women (sometimes men, too) have endured sexual harassment on the job. If you’re working for a big corporation or government agency, you may have a chance of your complaint being resolved. When you work for a small business, and especially if it’s the owner or their relative – good luck on getting anywhere. You can try, but for me it was like banging my head against a wall. I got out of there.
    Is being harassed fair or legal? Of course not!!! Can you prove it in court??? Chances are slim.
    If no lawyer will take your case, you can sue in small claims court. You may not get anything, but expenses are minimal and you will at least have had your day in court. Maybe it will make this bozo think twice before doing this to someone else.
    For your own peace of mind, start looking for another job right away. You deserve to be in a healthy work environment. I’m hoping you find a better job with more pay and better hours. If it helps, you’re not alone in having this happen to you. Good luck.

    3. first of all, im sorry. and personally i think getting a lawyer would still work because your situation is unfair. you shouldnt lose a job because of saying no to sexual offers. Try the government sites or google some lawyers that best fit your situations. Its never to late, you know. wish you luck and be safe.

    5. You can go to the EEOC for free. Here is a link to their website http://www.eeoc.gov/types/sexual_harassment.html
    By starting with your local EEOC, you can skip trying to find a lawyer who will take your case for free.
