THE best way to find a lawyer is by word of mouth. Ask your: family, friends, coworkers, anyone you might know in the same situation, etc.
OR
Call your local (usually county) bar association. Ask for names of attorneys that handle your type of matter. (If money is a BIG problem, you could also ask for the phone number of your local LegalAid office. – the attorneys at LegalAid are “real” attorneys, but sometimes in the field of Law, how much you are willing to pay does affect the quality you get.)
When you call the law office(s), insist on speaking with the Lawyer. Do not tell all the little details of your matter to the Secretary – save the details for the Attorney.
When you get the Lawyer on the phone line, ask him/her:
-Do they give FREE, initial consultations? (most do, but not all – you have to ask, don’t assume)
- How much do they charge?
- Could you make payments on your account?
-Can they help you? OR Refer you to someone who can help you?
Good luck.
(This is based on my knowledge, information, and belief. This was intended as personal opinion, and not intended to be used as legal advice. Seeking advice over the Internet is not a good idea – the field of Law is too complex for that. Please be careful and do your research.)
First of all, if you are out of the Mexican Jail, that is the biggest step. Second, you can hire an attorney here to file a federal case to fight extradition back to Mexico when your case comes up.
For God sakes, do not go back into Mexico for any reason.
If you want a good guide to finding a lawyer, check here:
Well what were you in jail for? a criminal activity or a civil activity. Determine that and then you will know what kind of an attorney you will need. Additionally you do not state what part of the country you are in, so how can a person know where to refer you?. There are many ways of paying an attorney. Cash is usually the best, but there are other less expensive way in some parts of the county. So where are you?
Well usually the best lawyers come from BIG firms. Look at the best criminal firms in your major city, or any, and call them and talk fees. other people will try to convince you I’m wrong about big firms, but you want good go there… TRUST ME! Also, the most expensive lawyers aren’t the best usually. There are some that will charge an hourly rate for their initial consultation, if someone does that easy sign they suck
You can try this “lawyer search engine” tool I found.http://caraccidentlawyersinla.blogspot.c…
you can also seek online, top law firms in USA to represent your case. Here is the web address >> http://toplawfirms.us/
its gonna be hard…usually the best most expensive lawyers can help u the most
